Online Sessions / Teletherapy

For many years, I have been providing therapy and coaching sessions by video and phone. I have found these formats to typically be just as effective as meeting in person – and sometimes even more so. The published research confirms that video therapy / teletherapy is often at least as effective as face-to-face formats.

So as an alternative to coming into my office, you have the option of meeting me by video or phone. Many clients prefer this approach for these reasons:

  • Convenience: Instead of needing to travel to my location, you can meet me from the comfort of your home, from a private room at your workplace, or from wherever else you might be.
  • Ease in Scheduling: Without having to account for travel to sessions, and without needing to time your appointments around Bay Area traffic patterns, it's a lot easier to find time to meet.
  • Health & Safety: Although I take a number of precautions to keep my office sanitized, you may feel safer from susceptibility to COVID-19 and other infections by meeting by video or over the phone.
  • Comfort: Some people can feel nervous meeting a therapist or coach face-to-face. If this describes you, meeting by video or phone may feel more relaxed and comfortable, and less vulnerable, as we get to know each other. I've found that in such cases, the greater comfort helps people go deeper and progress is therefore faster.
  • Privacy: Instead of potentially needing to explain where you are going, you can simply log in (or pick up the phone) for a private session. I use a secure videoconferencing platform, so your privacy is assured.
